It is that simple. It is hard to describe the actual in-describable. Many times people think that the actual reason for the trip is perfect for the heathens of the world yet it is so much more than that. Individually, I have been on about eight trips and each one is different. It is very true that God functions in mysterious ways. In fact he works in all in our lives but most of the time we cannot see beyond our own non selfish world.
I can honestly state that I have met people and that i knew without a doubt that I had been sent to sit with them, motivate them, help them, and assistance them. Many times people with requirements are too proud to ask for that kind of help but when somebody shows up in a working environment or even a simple praise time. That small amount of time can have a huge impact in that person's life.
Unfortunately, not everyone can go. Many times you will find people who believe they have squandered their lives because they did not pursue missions of some sort. Instead, they placed their resources, such as money, on other occasions and projects for the higher good. They diligently come to the church service where the returning reports and recommendations are given, sit and listen. They rejoice in silence.
Lately, I met one such person. She is a retired lady in the church and the woman's husband is confined to a nursing home. But she has that gleam in her eye when the reviews come back and I am VERY confident that she is one of the silent providers to our many trips. The actual positive attitude, smiles, and straightforward gifts of food given for the departing trip had been always thought of as being fairly sweet. But there was so much more than which.
No matter what the gift. All of us usually take them for granted until God puts it in to perspective for us.
So even though we travel to far off locations to reach people that probably don't know God. There are others that benefit too even though they don't board the plane.
They might have some reservations about past paths but I feel they're blessed in as much, or even more, than me.
The second person concerning missions came out of the blue to me. But I was past too far to respond. This man was a meticulous person. A very comprehensive and analytical thinker. I thought he or she were very deliberate in every thing he did however missions? No way!
As it turned out. He too went to the church services for the reviews and testimonies. And like others sat there as well as absorbed the moment. He requested questions, looked at their souvenirs and marveled at their seeing stories. But he never went on a trip.
It was not till his funeral that I learned of his passion for the mission field. I heard the tales of how money was needed so he setup an unique fund so groups would not have to worry about not having enough. He made it happen for them throughout those short falls within cash and stayed completely anonymous.
He even led to my trips when mine looked impossible. I wish I possibly could thank him now. If only I knew then things i know now.
