There are many benefits of playing indoor netball in Melbourne. One of the biggest benefits is that players and onlookers are protected from the weather. There is no hot sun to sting your neck and if it rains, play can still go ahead. Onlookers don’t have to shiver if the weather turns cold before the game is finished.

Outdoor venues rarely have enough seating for those who are not playing. This means that you have to bring your own fold-up chair or sit on the ground, which can be quite uncomfortable. But indoor venues have plenty of seating and other amenities as well.

The health benefits of playing indoor sport such as netball are well known. The indoor game is just as fast-paced as its outdoor counterpart. Players have brief bursts of sprinting as well as longer jogging and this develops the leg muscles and burns plenty of calories. Upper body strength is improved as the arms have to be used constantly to catch and pass the ball. Precision passing and shooting that is needed for good playing improves the hand-eye coordination of players. All this activity also improves the cardiovascular fitness.

Footscray Netball League is one of the non-contact sports and so is considered to be a safe sport. Of course, there are sure to be a few knocks and bruises from time to time, but this is true of most sports. You do have to quite fit to play the game as your body is required to be very active and agile for the duration of the game. Of course, the more you play, the fitter you will get.

To play netball you do not have to form your own team, but can register to play as an individual. There are often vacancies on teams that are already registered and so applying to play will put you in one of these teams. Of course, if you and some friends do decide to form a team you can certainly do so, but you still have to register to play. Organising all the games and the competition must be done by the professionals as it takes quite a lot of time and effort.

Women Netball League is usually played on weekday nights; which nights depend on where you are playing. Many women take up this game and find it both fun and healthy. There are also many social benefits of playing such a sport as you get to meet new people and are sure to make friends with at least some of them.
